Captured Tourmaline Bracelet

Captured Tourmaline Bracelet

Beautiful, natural tourmaline is captured between sterling silver rings. Each of the nearly 150 rings in this bracelet were opened, woven and then closed individually, in the same style used to make the chainmaille armor of the medieval ages.

Tourmaline is the birthstone of October. Often referred to as the ‘gemstone of the rainbow,’ this beautiful stone comes in a large variety of colors. The reason for all the colors, according to an Egyptian legend, is that the stone passed through a rainbow on its way up from the center of the earth, assuming all of the colors of the rainbow. Magical powers have been attributed to tourmaline since ancient times, as it is said to be the gemstone of firm and long-lasting love and friendship. Tourmaline is found in many localities including Brazil, Afghanistan, East Africa, and the USA.

This bracelet is made for a 6-1/2 inch wrist, so is slightly smaller than my standard chains. It is securely finished with a sterling silver lobster clasp.
