Paw Print Charm Bracelet with Moonstone and Sapphire

Paw Print Charm Bracelet with Moonstone and Sapphire

This is a perfect charm bracelet for a pet lover! The byzantine weave is a very traditional chainmaille pattern which produces the round, solid, intricate chain which is the base of this charm bracelet. There are approximately 200 rings in this bracelet, each individually opened, woven and then closed, in the same style used to make the chainmaille armor of the medieval ages. The charms are all handmade and feature hearts, paw prints, natural sapphires and moonstone.

Moonstone is one of the birthstone choices for June. Ancient Romans believed that moonstone was formed from the frozen moonlight, giving this beautiful, shimmering stone its name. Moonstones show a floating play of light, called adularescence, and come in a variety of colors including green, blue, peach and champagne, with clarity that ranges from transparent to translucent. The sometimes show either a multirayed star or a cat’s eye. Considered a sacred stone in India, moonstone is said to bring good fortune. The most prized moonstones are from Sri Lanka; India, Australia, the United States, Mayanmar, and Madagascar are also sources.

Sapphires are the birthstone of September. The word “sapphire” is Greek for blue, and when people envision sapphires they immediately think of a stunning violet-blue gemstone. Blue sapphires, ranging from very light to very dark greenish or violet-blue, represent a promise of honesty, loyalty, purity and trust. Sapphires are not only blue, however, as they can be found in pink, purple, green, orange or yellow. Sapphires are found in many parts of the world, but the most prized stones are from Myanmar.

This sterling silver bracelet fits a 7 inch wrist and is finished with a handmade hook clasp.
