Snowdrop Hinged Bangle

Snowdrop Hinged Bangle

The Snowdrop, also known as Galanthus, is a perennial plant that flowers in late winter/early spring, usually before March 21 (the vernal equinox). The snowdrop is often linked with hope or rebirth, fitting for one of the first flowers to bloom after a long winter.

The images were created using an ancient sculpting technique called chasing and repousse, a technique dating back nearly 5000 years. The images are created entirely by hand using a hammer and small blunt tools, pushing the metal from behind to create depth and sculpting the images from the front. It takes thousands of hammer blows to create a single image.

This uniquely hinged bracelet fits a 6-1/2 to 6-3/4 inch wrist. It’s more forgiving than many bangles in sizing since it doesn’t slide over the hand. The bracelet is sterling silver, and the word Hope is 14K gold.
