While the daisy originated in Europe and temperate parts of Asia, they are now on every continent except for Antarctica. They are related to the sunflower, and their name actually originates from an Old English phrase which reflects how the petals close at night and reopen each morning. The daisy symbolizes innocence, purity, loyalty, patience, and simplicity.
