Pinched Loop Bracelet with Spacers and Toggle Clasp
Pinched Loop Bracelet with Spacers and Toggle Clasp
$400.00
This bracelet was woven using a technique called Loop in Loop, which dates back thousands of years. This was the predominant type of chain the Ancient Romans used.
A bracelet similar to this one, but made in the 4th century A.D., can be seen in the Walters Museum in Baltimore. A big thank you to Jean Stark for her wonderful book, Classical Loop-in-Loop Chains, for all the research into this ancient technique.
Each of the spacers was individually fabricated, and each of the loops of the chain was first fused into a closed circle and then woven into the chain.
This bracelet fits a 6-3/4 inch wrist. The chain is fine silver, and is finished with a handmade sterling silver box clasp, which has a safety chain for added security.
