Chainmaille has been around for thousands of years, first used to create armor at least as early as the 3rd century B.C. To create chainmaille, wire is formed into a coil, the coil is cut into rings, and these individual rings are woven together to create a fabric or interlocking pattern. The pattern used for these earrings is a traditional chainmaille pattern called European 4-in-1, and the pattern that was used to create the chainmaille armor of the middle ages.

These sterling silver earrings are 1-1/2 inches long.
